Corrosion behavior of TiZrHfBeCu(Ni) high-entropy bulk metallic glasses in 3.5 wt. % NaCl

Abstract The corrosion behavior of TiZrHfBeCu(Ni) high-entropy bulk metallic glasses (HE-BMGs) has been investigated. HE-BMGs exhibited high resistance in 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution because accumulation ZrO 2 and TiO the passive film. Ni promoted increases , HfO contents a decrease BeO content, which improved HE-BMG behavior. Compared with Zr 41.2 Ti 13.8 10 Cu 12.5 Be 22.5 BMG, effect can significantly reduce atomic mobility, inhibits outward migration Cu, reduces kinetics dissolution reaction, inward erosion by Cl − thereby improving performance.
